This is a first person shooter game developed by Starbreeze studios, which was released on PC back in November 2018. The game was a huge disappointment. This lead the Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and owner of Skybound media, to terminate the contract on developing the game.
The console version of the game was announced late 2018 though based on the poor sales figures of the PC version, the termination of the contract was bound to happen. They did a further analysis of the game as to why it was a disappointment and the reason was due to the poor quality of the game. This is what Skybound media had to say:
“We did our best to work with Starbreeze and resolve many issues that we saw with the game, but ultimately Overkill's The Walking Dead did not meet our standards nor is it the quality that we were promised," Skybound said. "We are exceedingly sorry to our fans and share their disappointment in the game. We remain dedicated to providing our fans with the most premium quality content we can offer, and will continue to look for alternative video game options for the IP."
Starbreeze admitted that the overall sales from the PC launch was low and that they are planning to restructure their business as their CEO Bo Andersson resigned November of last year. Yikes, not a lot of good news so don’t expect the game to come out on console.
