With the addition of Forza Horizon 3, Xbox One X enhanced games have reached well over 100. Microsoft first teased the Xbox One X at E3 2017 and promised to deliver true 4K, HDR, and the most powerful console yet. As the year circles back to E3, this list of 100 games is proof that Microsoft can deliver. Many Microsoft exclusives have received 4K bumps and 60FPS for the Xbox One X, e.g. Halo 5: Guardians and Gears of War 4.
Gears of War 4 on Xbox One X is noticably better, on 1080P 60 performance mode you can tell that you're not getting the best textures but the best frame rate. However, if you are using the One X on a 1080P screen, then you can still take advantage of the 4K performance mode. Your image will be super sampled, meaning images are smoother with enhanced character textures. JD's hair though! Our advice, use 4K performance mode on Gears of War 4 even if you have a 1080 screen. Super sampling is also enabled by default on games that target 4K so you can expect better image quality as well.
In Xbox One X Enhanced games, expect higher quality textures. Player Unknown's Battlegrounds for example, there's longer draw distances, enhanced light shafts and dynamic shadows. What this means in the most basic of terms is that sunlight and its effects on the gaming world is realistic. Furthermore, added memory allows you to view your character's equipped gear and to view buildings as soon as you drop out of the plane.
Keep in mind that all of this also depends on what the developers choose to incorporate into their game.
